Architect, graduated from the University of Architecture and Urbanism “Ion Mincu” (UAUIM) Bucharest in 1982 and has a PhD in human geography with a thesis on the Structure and Dynamics of Human Settlements. Over 30 years of experience in urban and territorial planning and regional development. Author and co-author of more than 60 studies, researches and projects within the framework of research and design institutions or as a consultant.

For the last 15 years, coordinator, consultant and member of project teams in the fields of regional development, local economic development and strategic planning. Teaching at UAUIM since 1998, as a member of the Department of Urban and Territorial Planning and Development. Course leader for territorial planning, regional development, inner city areas and coordinator of the territorial planning projects.

Responsible for the master programme for “Territorial Planning and Regional Development”. Author and co-author of more than 100 articles published in various journals as well as of over 15 books and scientific reports. President of the Professional Association of Romanian Planners, member of the Higher Board of the Romanian Register of Urban Planners, member of the Romanian Association of Regional Sciences. Since December 2014, VP of ISOCARP. Participating at more than 60 conferences, seminars, workshops in the fields of urban planning, geography and regional development as author of papers, organizer, curator or member of a jury.
