    Capital Fort is a large-scale multifunctional project situated at one of the fastest growing business districts of the Bulgarian capital – Sofia.

    The project consists of a 126-meter high-rise office tower and a second 40-meter low-rise office building, situated over a retail podium and an underground parking.

    The design team, leaded by A&A Architects has developed an outstanding project for the regional market, which combines contemporary and dynamic architecture with some of the most important features of a successful real-estate project. The concept design is developed in a cooperation between A&A Architects and the Atkins Design Studio.

    Capital Fort has quickly become a new city landmark and has triggered a new wave of large scale projects in Sofia.

    Capital Fort is also a project with strong environmental attitude. Many advanced technologies were implemented in the project, including specially designed façade with improved energy performance, and last generation of building installations.

    Despite its modest height for the world‘s skyscraper standards, currently Capital Fort is the tallest building in Sofia and Bulgaria.

    The project was published already in many professional Medias and the designed by A&A Architects stunning interior of the grand lobby has turned into a preferable location for public events.
    The building and the design team were awarded with several the prizes: Building of the Year in Bulgaria 2015, Architects of the Year in Bulgaria for 2015 and Civil Engineer in Bulgaria for 2015.

    BIOGRAPHY

    Angel Zahariev graduated Master of Architecture In 2003 at the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy (UACEG), Sofia with awards.

    In 2004 he specialized at the Institute of Housing and Urban Development Studies (IHS), Erasmus University, Rotterdam, The Netherlands.

    From 2003 to 2007 Angel Zahariev was a PhD Student at the Urban Planning Department, UACEG, Sofia.

    Since 2004 arch.Zahariev is an Assistant Professor/lecturer at UACEG, Sofia

    In 2005, together with his colleague and friend arch. Assen Milev, he has founded A&A Architects.

    Over the years of his professional career, Arch.Zahariev has built up great design experience on the local market and excellent network among the local and international professionals.
    As a leader of the A&A Architects’ design team Arch.Zahariev has been responsible for the design of some of the most recognizable projects in recent times in Bulgaria, such as: Business Park Sofia, Capital Fort, Muzeiko and many others.

    Arch. Zahariev is a lecturer of many Architectural and Urban Planning events in Bulgaria, such as: International Etem Conference For Facade Engineering, Sofia – 2015; Urban & Building Innovation Forum, Sofia – 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015; One Architectural Week 2011, 2014; Mentor of the Sofia Independent City Academy.

    Angel Zahariev is winner of many professional awards, personally and as part of the A&A Architects team: Several times winner of the prize Building of the Year in Bulgaria – 2007,2014,2015; Winner of the prize Architects of the Year in Bulgaria for 2015; Winner of the National Competition for Architectural Projects: Archinova 2015, and many others.
